In-Person Gatherings: COVID-19 Response

Stay updated with our latest developments.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation over the past year as we have navigated worship and community life in the midst of the pandemic.

In light of the recent update from the CDC, the Pastoral Council met to discuss and decide on the next steps. As has been our posture throughout, we desire to be prayerful and thoughtful on each decision we make for the community, modeling good partnership with our city as well as care for the most vulnerable.

Taking into account the current Delta variant and its disproportionate impact on children and the immunocompromised, which can be spread by the unvaccinated and vaccinated among us, we are considering once again our protocols for Sunday gatherings. We have been monitoring the increased hospitalizations in our area, consulting with physicians and public health experts in our church, as well as looking at recommendations posted by the CDC and Harris County supervisors.  After prayerful consideration, taking into account all of the information available to us, we strongly encourage masks for those attending in-person gatherings.

Our staff and volunteers will continue to wear masks at all times, other than when actively singing or speaking in Sunday services.  Our prayer is that we continue to believe the best in each other and choose peace over conflict.

We realize that we will not all be at the same point on our personal journey as we continue to navigate these times, and are committed as a community to extend grace to and believe the best of one another. As we take these steps together, we continue to embrace unity and as followers of Jesus, we choose relationships and love for one another. May this be a season of increased hope and joy as we say yes to all that God has in store for the Houston Vineyard community.
