WHAT TO EXPECT

We know that coming to a new church can be intimidating and that there are many things that may make a newcomer anxious. We have tried to create a comfortable environment where you can explore your faith and find God on your own terms. When you visit the Houston Vineyard, we promise:

We won’t embarrass you  – as our guest, we will respect your privacy
We won’t ask you for money – support comes from our regular attendees
We are normal people – seeking God, just like you!

Welcome
When you walk through the doors of the Houston Vineyard, our greeters will be ready to answer your questions, help you settle your children and direct you into the auditorium. You will notice that we enjoy a pretty laid back and casual environment, so you don’t need to dress up to attend.

Worship
We start each service with a time of worship – usually lasting about 30 minutes. Primarily we do this through music, singing in both English and Spanish. Vineyard music is often intimate and expressive as we communicate our hearts to God. We have the songs lyrics displayed on screens to help you participate. We also incorporate other artistic forms in worship such as dance, drama or media presentations.

Message
We believe that the Bible is both relevant and meaningful for our lives today and that it is the primary way that God speaks to us. After worship, we have 30-40 minutes of practical teaching from the Bible.

Prayer
We fully expect that every time we get together, God is there – ready to show himself to us through the Holy Spirit. We always offer times at the end of each service for you to receive prayer for physical or emotional healing as well as other concerns.

Programs for children and teens
On Sunday mornings, we offer a nursery for young children and Children’s Church for Kindergarten - 5th grade during both services. 6th-12th graders worship with the adults and then are dismissed to go to classes.

Communion
On the first Sunday of each month, children, youth and adults take communion together during our worship services. Children and youth are then dismissed to their classes. For more information, go to our communion page.
